The Top Home Furnishings and Accessories to Come Out of High Point 2024

The High Point Market is one of the largest furnishings industry trade show in the world. Each Spring the show brings more than 75,000 people to High Point, North Carolina, including buyers, interior designers, architects, and others in the home furnishings industry.

If you can’t find it in High Point…it probably doesn’t exist.

Each year, many of our RNDD Members attend High Point and report back to us on the newest and most innovative products and trends at the show. Here is what captivated our members most this year.

Upscale Outdoor Furnishings

Carol Miller is the Illinois-Metro Chicago/North territory manager for Casa Bella, an upscale sales and marketing agency specializing in accent furniture, lighting, rugs and home décor products. Carol attends the market every year and this year, she said High Point market was alive with outdoor products!

It was refreshing to see all the new introductions, including the new Outdoor Collection from Arteriors. The assortment ranges from large-scale dining tables to sleek side tables and chairs. And, for the first time in their history, Arteriors launched a group of outdoor rugs. — Carol Miller

Warm Neutrals and Nostalgic Silhouettes

Kristen Pipal is founder and principal designer at KP Home, a boutique interior design firm that specializes in full-service interior design for custom homes, full-home renovations, and kitchen & bathroom remodels in the greater Chicago area. Kristen attended High Point this year and felt that there was a notable shift towards warm neutrals, like taupe, rust, and chocolate dominating color palettes. These rich soothing tones infused spaces with a sense of tranquility and sophistication.

In addition to color, furniture design had a growing emphasis on distinctive shapes/silhouettes and intricate details. These elements add depth and personality to rooms, turning everyday items into focal points. — Kristen Pipal

Finally, Kristen felt there was a resurgence of retro aesthetics and tapestry influences, bridging the past with present modern elements.

Whether through nostalgic vintage motifs or contemporary reinterpretations, this trend will definitely continue to encourage exploration and self-expression, allowing client’s homes to further be a unique blend of individuality and warmth. — Kristen Pipal

Abstract Landscape Art

High Point is not just furniture—it also showcases art and accessories. ALMA Art and Interiors represent abstracted landscape painter Jeffrey Sanderson who was a highlight for them at this year’s market.

Jeffrey Sanderson (b.1976, Toronto, Canada) is a painter based in Chicago, IL, where he has been engaged with an intuitive and exploratory home studio practice steadily for over 20 years. His non-objective oil painting is based on incisive mark-making and their placement as an end in itself. His work depends upon and celebrates the remarkable sensitivity and uncanny memory that humans possess. It was refreshing seeing his work showcased at High Point!
