The 9th Annual River North Design District Fall Gallery Walk, Presented by Sherwin-Williams
On Friday, September 6th, 2024, a who’s who in the Chicago design and art communities gathered for our 9th Annual River North Design District Fall Gallery Walk, Presented by Sherwin-Williams, to view vignettes designed by Chicago’s top designers as they showcased living settings highlighting artwork created by some of the brightest stars in the art world today.
It was our biggest and best turnout yet with close to 2,000 attendees! Thanks to everyone who came out to support us. And don’t forget the vignettes are on display until October 7th! You can refer to our program book online here for a list of participating locations and suggested routes so as not to miss a single one.
The night began at The Luxury Bed Collection for our VIP Kickoff Party where where guests embarked on a sensual journey embracing the roles of weavers, sculptors, and designers, threading tales of intimacy and emotions into every fabric. Artwork by Bobbi Meier and Seonyoung Lee was on display while guests enjoyed NavyBlacks‘ curated beats, luscious cocktails, and exquisite culinary delights.
After the conclusion of the kickoff party, partygoers from all over the city took to the streets of River North visiting the 21 participating design showrooms and art galleries to feast on art, design, food and drinks.
The Gallery Walk’s philanthropic partners this year included the Ryan Licht Sang Bipolar Foundation and Humble Design, both of which will received a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales to the kick off and after party.
Attendees were asked to post photos of their favorite vignette on Instagram throughout the night with our official hashtag #RNDDBest. This year’s fan favorite was: Adina Hall Design featuring Michiko Itatani of Jean Albano at Heritage Auctions.
Passionate about craftsmanship, Adina Hall Design created an interior that exudes daring elegance by seamlessly blending decorative arts with a rich tapestry of cultural influences. Guests were invited to step into an immersive space, where every detail tells a story, featuring art by celebrated artist Michiko Itatani, courtesy of Jean Albano Gallery. The evening concluded with an immersive safari themed After Party, with a silent auction consisting of artist decorated illuminated Seletti primates at Lightology. All auction proceeds benefitted Humble Design. The party also featured a designer vignette, a collab with Yamini Design and Interiors by Francesca, along with art exhibitions featuring work from Sam Goble and from Alma Art Interiors Nancy Natow-Cassidy, Yvette Kaiser Smith, Jackie Kazarian, and Darren Oberto. The event included special performances from Ayodele Drum & Dance, food, and libations. It was a night to remember!
