Vibrant Collaborations: PROjECT & Lightology

The River North Design District is more than your favorite destination for design, we are a close knit community. Many of our members collaborate to create beautiful spaces. This past February we spotlighted a collaboration between showrooms Montauk and Organic Looms. RNDD designers are also working hand in hand with showrooms on projects that continuously blow us away. The ladies of PROjECT interiors aka your favorite #designjunkies are known for mixing striking colors with fun patterns all in the name of transforming a space into a biography. It makes sense that Lightology is the showroom they frequently use to brighten an interior, pun intended. As the premier source for architectural lighting, Lightology blends functionality with a bold design aesthetic. When PROjECT and Lightology work together, jaws drop. We’re sharing 3 collaborations that made our jaws hit the floor.

Clean Living in Bucktown

Design by Aimee Wertepny of PROjECT – Photographed by Cynthia Lynn

This single family home in Bucktown lets architecture and form take center stage. The kitchen features clean lines and white walls, embellished by a magnetic barn door sectioning off a mudroom (yes please!) and artwork from Chicago artist Jeff Zimmermann. Hanging above the dining table is the Graciano from Edge Lighting, offering a playful cluster of blown glass spheres. Graciano is the epitome of exquisite detail and fine craftsmanship. View this entire project.

Vintage Remix in River Forest

Design by Jennifer Kranitz of PROjECT – Photographed by Tony Soluri

This bathroom is every woman’s dream. It juxtaposes vibrant color and mixed metals with a modern clean aesthetic. As an added touch of luxury, the wall coverings are made of hand painted silk. In PROjECT style, there is an added touch of playfulness. The sink was converted from a dresser. The Zanadoo ceiling light from Arteriors Home is a chic throwback to the Atomic Age. With brass rods and candelabra-based bulbs that extend from a single point, the bold, beautiful Zanadoo is the perfect mid-century accent for contemporary and eclectic interiors. View this entire project.

Apart of the same home is a gorgeous dressing room. Many characteristics of this River Forest home are of the original architecture, such as the floors and crown molding in this space. As the dressing room before the closet, the client wanted a place to have cocktails with the girls so PROjECT was able to make the dressing room classy yet fun. Luxurious drapery covering the shoes and purses makes for a fun reveal! Featured in this space is also the Graciano from Edge Lighting seen in the Clean Living kitchen. View this entire project.

Weekend Warrior in West Loop

Design by Jennifer Kranitz of PROjECT – Photographed by Cynthia Lynn

This West Loop Loft is a second home for a weekend getaway to the city, and is also is a showstopper! It is a great play on space and lines. The peekaboo shelving creates an opening air position of space, which is repeated by the chairs surrounding the glass table. The String Light Round Pendants designed by Michael Anastassiades were influenced by the connecting wires of electrical towers. The symmetrical globes use LED lights to brighten and energize interiors.
