RNDD members Studio 41 and Dornbracht set the standard for all things kitchen and bath. They work together to provide top of the line service and products for all projects, big or small. But beyond their expertise in their field, both Studio 41 and Dornbracht are expanding their reach; one through continuing cultural projects, another through developments and acquisitions.
Rapid Expansion for Studio 41
Studio 41 Downtown Chicago and their Kohler Signature Store have been increasingly involved with the rapid growth of construction in River North and surrounding Metropolitan areas. With this latest surge of construction, Studio 41 has become progressively involved in many of the premiere high rise developments. Most notably 9 West Walton by JDL Development, a luxury condominium high rise in Gold Coast, expected to open in 2017.
They are always updating and evolving to fit the needs of their clients. Their acquisition of the Kohler Signature showroom last year has proven to be a successful venture, and the ever expanding company is making an even bigger move in the next few months.
We are excited to announce that Studio 41 will be opening in Scottsdale Arizona in Summer 2016!
Dornbracht Creates Artistic Consciousness
Dornbracht coined the phrase that forever changed the way we look at plumbing fixtures, “The flow of water cannot be more beautiful.” The Dornbracht philosophy reminds us that, the way the water looks and feels is an important component in our daily bathing rituals. Beyond the impeccable design and German craftsmanship, there is a decades long story, rich with forward-thinking artistic collaborations. Over the decades, Dornbracht has applied their philosophy to contemporary art, design, and cultural enrichment.
More recently, The New Museum in New York hosted the latest collaboration during the 2015 Triennial. For the installation Surround Audience, Dornbracht and New Museum creative director, Mike Meire, co-designed The Island (KEN)*, and presented it as a demonstration and conversation space in conjunction with the artist collective, DIS. The Island (KEN) melded Dornbracht’s horizontal shower and a functioning kitchen. Surround Audience blended the social aspects of the kitchen with the private aspects of the bathroom and provided a stage for discussing related topics, such as gender and digital consciousness.
