The River North Design District (RNDD) is excited to welcome Chicago interior design firm, Stone Textile Studio by Elizabeth Mollen to our organization.

Stone Textile Studio is a Chicago-based interior design studio known for mosaic patterned pillows, textiles, and wallpaper. In 2018, the Stone Textile Studio turned their signature mosaic look into a collection of tiles.

Stone Textile Studio was inspired by the memory of founder Elizabeth Mollen’s grandparents, who taught her to appreciate the beauty of old and new. With Stone Textile Studio, Elizabeth takes a modern-meets-vintage approach, creating custom textiles that reflect hidden patterns in architecture and vintage jewelry from her grandmother. Also inspired by contemporary fashion trends, Elizabeth integrates her appreciation of fashion into her design philosophy. The result is a level of elegance and simplicity that complement the environment, enhance the table and add a bit of attitude to the space.

About the Designer

Elizabeth Mollen inherited her love of design and art from her Grandmother, who was an artist and antique dealer. As a child, Elizabeth spent most of her time creating, drawing, and redecorating her room.

When she left Chicago for college, Elizabeth received her degree in textile and apparel design and studied art history in Italy. Elizabeth worked and developed her skills in New York and Los Angeles with various designers in the fashion industry. Using her love of textiles, she began to design fashion inspired pillows and interior spaces for friends. In 2012, the birth of Stone Textile Studio was naturally the next step.
