As we welcome a new year, we can’t help but look back on what a successful year 2017 was for the River North Design District (RNDD) and our amazing members. Because of you, our design community continues to grow and thrive year after year. Thanks to each of you for supporting our not-for-profit and for making 2017 our best year yet!
Here are some of our favorite moments of 2017.
We Gained New Members
In 2017 we welcomed a total of 18 new members! Five of those were River North Showrooms:
Atelier Cabinetry, eggersmann USA, Orizzonti , The Rug Company, and Transceramica.
Six of our new members were local Interior Designers:
Nicholas Moriarty Interiors, M. Grace Design, Inspired Interiors, Robin Thomas Design, Vincere, and Studio Swann.
And 7 of our new members came on board as Affiliate Members:
Live Edge Chicago, Mary Carol Fitzgerald Photography, BGD&C Custom Homes, Workroom Couture Home, Adler Law Group, Creative Visions Midwest, and Keuco.
Our Events Were a Big Success
We hosted some great events this year including our Spring Speaker Series: Opening the Door to Inspiration which was hosted by Glenview Haus and featured 5 of Chicago’s top design and build professionals who shared what inspires them in the fast, fun format of 20 images, 20 seconds apiece.

Dreaming of Design
On May 4th, 2017, the River North Design District (RNDD) and Chicago Luxury Beds partnered once again on “Dreaming of Design” featuring bedroom vignettes by 11 amazingly talented Chicago interior designers, including RNDD Member, Nora Schneider Interior Design.
Participants: Gary Lee Partners, Alison Victoria, Ilene Chase, Nora Schneider, Jeannie Balsam, Jessica Lagrange, Brynn Olson, Sarah Kuchar, George Lowell, Hunter Kaiser, Cathy Bruni Norris.

And our biggest event of the year was the 3rd Annual RNDD Fall Gallery Walk which took place on Friday, September 8th. Each participating showroom exhibited designer vignettes from Chicago’s top designers as they showcase living settings with artwork created by some of the brightest stars in the art world today and curated by Daniel Kinkade Fine Art.

Four of our members were featured designers in the 2017 Lake Forest Showhouse: Michael Del Piero Good Design, Donna Mondi Interior Design, Sweet Peas Design, and Gray|Walter.
We were thrilled to be featured in the September issue of Chicago Magazine! The River North Design District had our own special section within the issue, featuring details surrounding our 3rd Annual Fall Gallery Walk as well as advertisements from many of our members.
