The River North Design District (RNDD) is proud to announce that the Italian furniture showroom Molteni&C has joined our design organization.
One of Italy’s leading furniture design and manufacturing companies, Molteni&C incorporates the expertise of a nearly 100-year craft tradition with innovative technological quality that ensures each piece is elegant, yet sturdy, and tasteful, yet functional.
Since 2010, Luca Lanzetta Group has partnered with the brand to bring its products to the Midwest market. Utilizing Molteni&C furnishings throughout his own home and those of his clients, Luca values the company for its boundary-pushing partnerships with architects and its trend-setting product that raises the standard worldwide. Luca Lanzetta Group operates one of the two US flagships for the brand in Chicago.
Molteni&C Chicago Flagship Store is located in River North, a neighborhood known for its deep appreciation of fine art and design. This 3,000 square foot design destination sits between the high rises in The Loop and historic homes on the North and West sides.
Here, Molteni&C’s newest designs live among its most iconic pieces. Key product families on display include the celebrated Gio Ponti Collection, Heritage Collection and Gliss Master wardrobe concept designed by Creative Director Vincent Van Duysen.
Molteni&C combines advanced technology with old-fashioned tradition. In the 1950s the Molteni company led the manufacturing of classic bedroom furniture and in mid-1960s marked a turning point. These were the years of Italy’s economic boom and change was in the air. It was the beginning of design, on an industrial scale. Key interior designers and architects came into the factory, along with technical experts. Projects took shape on the drawing board, prototypes were made, designs were corrected, and so on. And today, they remain one of Italy’s leading international furnishings companies.
