Sarah Dippold Design is a luxury interior design firm specializing in both residential and commercial projects in Chicago, Chicago’s North Shore, and beyond. Sarah takes an architectural approach to designing interiors. Fundamental spatial relationships such as counterpoints, axial symmetry, balance, proportion, and scale are constant guiding elements that contribute to establishing a peaceful order and timeless appeal.
“I started my firm in 2012 after my home was featured in a House Walk and I was approached by my first 2 clients. I very so lucky to wake up every morning and do something that I absolutely love. I am challenged, I get to be creative and I really enjoy helping people. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities and it is very exciting.”
Classically trained at Harrington College of Design in Chicago, Sarah went on to work for the prestigious design firm Handman Associates before joining her husband to design and assist in managing projects for his portfolio. Gaining an invaluable experience in construction and the project management process along the way, it has been a unique asset to her design business.
In addition to residential projects in Chicago and on the North Shore, Sarah has worked on projects in Michigan and Colorado.
Currently, she is working on 2 residential remodels in Glencoe, a new construction single family home in Roscoe Village, and several interior design projects.
Sarah has also become known for her work designing commercial projects. Notable commercial projects include a wellness center and yoga studio in Northbrook, a restaurant in downtown Glencoe, and her commissioned installations for the widely acclaimed Grace Restaurant in Chicago. She also just started a commercial Coffee Shop/Juice Bar on the North Shore that she’s really excited about.
A few years ago I was asked by an extraordinary chef to curate installations to further elicit the sense of each season in his new restaurant’s interior. It was a challenge, an honor, and a whole lot of fun!
“I am very inspired by patterns and textures in Nature. I also love ethnographic and tribal art. The use of geometric forms and repetition of shapes as well as the patina that many of these items possess are fantastic. In addition, getting out and traveling, always leaves me very inspired and excited to return to work.”
We are so happy to have Sarah as a new Member of the RNDD Community here in Chicago. Please join us in welcoming her!
