The River North Design District (RNND) is excited to welcome our newest designer Member, JOLIE ID.
Founded in 2011 by Joanna Roumanis, JOLIE ID is a boutique interior design firm located in Chicago’s vibrant Fulton Market district. A native of Chicago and the daughter of a fine carpenter, Joanna has always had an eye for fashion and a passion for architecture. She decided to bring the two together and pursue a career in design.
JOLIE ID is driven by a simple ethos: good interior design is where fashion and architecture meet. Not only is Joanna inspired by fashion, but travel is a huge source of inspiration for her designs as well.
Currently, JOLIE ID is working on the merging of two condo units in the west loop to create a “party penthouse” with a magical view, as well as rehabbing a swanky bachelor pad in Bucktown, and putting the finishing touches on the single family house of their dreams in the Gold Coast.
“All the projects I’ve worked on are uniquely memorable and special in their own ways. But if I had to pick a favorite, I would say the West Loop Loft. This condo underwent a massive transformation in making a historic Chicago building feel both modern and inviting. The client embraced the design process and wasn’t afraid to take some risks. In the end, everyone was so happy!”
– Joanna Roumanis, Founder and Head of Design
We asked Joanna to share some design advice she might give a first time home buyer…
“Don’t be afraid to call a designer while you’re actually house hunting. We love to be involved in the process as early as possible and can help you see the potential of a space before making an offer. The biggest regret many first time buyers have is not allocating furniture or rehab costs into their overall budget. Often times they stretch their budget to get into the home they want and don’t have enough money to leftover to furnish the home of their dreams.”
Please help us in welcoming them to the RNDD Community!
